A vintage Resistol 10X Beaver felt ‘Cattleman’ style cowboy hat in natural with a ribbon band, and inscribed in black marker on the interior with a personal inscription, ‘To My Good Friend Tanya, Always Your Friend, Ben Johnson, July 8- 79’. Ben Johnson was an Academy Award winning actor who won an Oscar for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his portrayal as ‘Sam, The Lion’ in the film ‘The Last Picture Show’ in 1971. He acted in numerous films and Westerns including ‘Shane’, ‘The Outlaw’, and ’ One-Eyed Jacks’ to name a few. He was also a stuntman, and a World Champion Rodeo Cowboy. Ben Johnson died in 1996 at the age of 77.
