A collection of books published by Modern Library and The Riverside Press Cambridge. The Modern Library books all display the torchbearer emblem, an emblem redesigned many times since 1925. Several titles are The Travels of Marco Polo, Victory by Joseph Conrad, and The Tale of Genji by Lady Murasaki. The Riverside Press Cambridge books are published by the Houghton Mifflin Company. A featured title is A Wonder-Book and Tanglewood Tales by Nathaniel Hawthorne. This volume contains four full color illustrations by Gustaf Tenggren. The front cover has a pictorial label.

Condition

Shelf wear is consistent with the age of the book. Bumped corners, fraying edges, lose of gilt lettering are evident.
