WW I Militaria Allied Victory Medal and Blue Star Banner

A World War I militaria Allied Victory Medal and a Blue Star_Over There_ embroidered felt banner from 1917. The medal includes four battle bars that read Chateau Thierry, St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, Defensive Sector. The blue felt banner features embroidery to the front, Over There above the embroidered Blue Star. There is a paper tag attached to the back of the banner that reads _Presented November 6, 1917. The Victory Medal was created in 1919, and designed by James Earle Fraser. The bronze Victory medal was awarded to any member of the U.S. military who had served in the armed forces between 1917 and 1920. The round medal features on one side a winged Victory lady holding a shield and sword. The back of the medal features “The Great War For Civilization” in all capital letters curved along the top of the medal. Curved along the bottom of the back of the medal are six stars, three on either side of the center column of seven staffs wrapped in a cord. On left side of the staff it lists one World War I Allied country per line: France, Italy, Serbia, Japan, Montenegro, Russia, and Greece. On the right side of the staff the Allied country names read: Great Britain (at the time the common term for the United Kingdom), Belgium, Brazil, Portugal, Rumania (spelled with a U instead of an O as it is spelled now), and China.

Condition

Medal is in good condition but has some tape residue to the back (was adhered in a shadow box). Ribbon is in fair condition. Banner shows wear – some stitching missing.
