A Maria Theresa thaler silver bouillon coin. This coin was named after after Empress Maria Theresa, who ruled Austria, Hungary, and Bohemia from 1740 to 1780. On the face it reads, ‘R.IMP.HU.BO.REG, M.THERESIA.D.G., SF’, with an image in profile of Maria Theresa. On the other side is an image of a coat of arms and a two headed eagle. The inscription reads, ‘ARCHID . AVST. DUX. BURG. CO. TYR. 1780. X’ which is an abbreviation that translates to ‘Maria Theresa, by the grace of God, Empress of the Romans, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol. 1780’. There is text along the edge that reads, ‘clementia / iustitia / et’. The coin weighs 27.98 grams and is 83.3% silver.
