Pair of Hand-Colored Engravings
Item Details
A pair of hand-colored engravings completed in 1825 by Spanish artists José Rivelles (1778 – 1835) and Juan Carrafa (1787 – 1869). The first depicts a male figure dressed in red pants and a blue long coat holding a spear with a lantern attached. Below the figure the text reads, ‘Sereno de Madrid en 1836’. The second print depicts a male figure wearing a yellow vest and red cummerbund under a black jacket with tall boots. He is holding a long walking stick and the text below reads, ‘Labrador de Vizcaya’. These prints come matted in off white and framed in matching wood frames with red detailing.
