Steel Engraving of the University of Virginia Charlottesville

Item Details

A steel plate engraving done in 1831 by Fenner Sears & Co. The image is after work by artist William Goodacre titled University of Virginia, Charlottesville. The engraving depicts the main lawn and the quadrangle on the campus at the University of Virginia during the 1830s. The rotunda at the end of the lawn was designed by Thomas Jefferson. The engraving has the title in block text at the bottom and the print comes matted in beige and housed behind glass in a wood frame.
