A limited edition etching with aquatint by Chilean born artist Roberto Matta (1911-2002) titled Ioessa. Matta was heavily influenced by the works of surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali and Andre Breton. His work often took on political, social and spiritual themes. This limited edition print, completed in 1972, depicts several surrealist figures set on top a mountain like landscape with a bright blue sky background. It is hand signed in pencil to the lower right and numbered to the lower left, 38/100. It comes matted in white and in a silver and gold toned wood frame.
