Robert Rauschenberg Handmade Paper with Collage "Bit"

A handmade natural fiber paper and tissue print collage titled Bit created by Robert Rauschenberg (1925 – 2008) and others as a collaborative work. These artists worked together at Richard de Bas Paper Mill in Ambert, France, in August of 1973 to create a series of paper making works titled Pages and Fuses. This piece is square in shape, divided in half with a pale yellow upper section and a brick red lower section, and it has a center square cut out. The work is signed, numbered (19/33) and dated (’74) to the reverse at the bottom right. Presented in an acrylic floated frame.
