An illustration by Henry Hutt for LIFE magazine, 1907. This was a humor magazine that folded during the depression. It’s name was purchased by Henry Luce, who started a completely unrelated publication with the same name in the 1930s. This work is entitled The Wrecker and portrays a young lady in Edwardian bathing costume garnering the attention of an array of male bathers in the background. It is signed in plate ‘Henry Hutt’ and is stamped ‘Copyright 1907 by Life Pub Co.’ with the additional text ‘Compliments of LIFE and ANDREW DEYO’ to lower right corner. Presented under glass in a period wood frame with raised beaded decoration to inner edge.

- to fair. Some foxing along paper edges with nicks and scratches to frame.
