Series of Three Rance Hood Lithographs

Item Details

A series of three Rance Hood lithographs. The first Rance Hood lithograph features of a pair of Native American Shamen or Medicine Men in traditional Shaman attire with the wind blowing, snow falling, and Native Americans traveling from right to left in the background. This lithograph is pencil signed and numbered (262/1500) to the lower left and copyrighted (Hood 80) in the lower right. The second lithograph continues the first theme of the snow filled background and silhouetted Native American riders but show them under the rising full moon. The main figure of a Native American is staged off to the left, in native attire, riding a dappled horse, and drawing an arrow in his bow. It is signed and numbered (106/1500) in pencil to the lower left and copyrighted (Hood 80) in the lower right. The last lithograph features a Native American in full leader regalia astride his horse to the center leading silhouetted riders across a dry and hard packed terrain. A sliver of the moon is over his left shoulder as a silhouetted eagle soars through the air to his right. It is signed and numbered (195/1500) in pencil to the lower left and copyrighted (Hood 80) in the lower right. All three are identically presented under glass in blue over maize mats in a simple natural oak frame.
