1892 Art Nouveau Figural Clock

An elegant 1892 Art Nouveau bronze tone figural shelf clock. The clock is designed with a floral and foliate crest and a round, beveled bezel frame surrounding the dark cream enamel face which has black Arabic numerals, bands and hands and a second dial to the base. The clock’s fabulous base features a lovely maiden to the center, surrounded by sinuous branches and curving leaves, with iconic Art Nouveau forms comprising the base. A windup key and time set button, along with patent dates distinguish the base, which is removable. A lovely example of an Art Nouveau timepiece.

Condition

Wear is consistent with age and use. The clock ticks but has not been timed or examined as to accuracy. One hand is missing.
