Pair of Framed Embroidered Chinese Silks

Item Details

A pair of ornately stitched Chinese embroidered textiles. The textiles are each in the shape of a butterfly, one in blue with gold tone thread, with long-tailed birds featured in the blue wings and with cartouche and scrollwork detailing. The other work is in deep red with gold tone thread detailing. It is designed with a pair of white cranes or herons flying toward the center of a scrollwork-embellished background. Both butterfly forms are mounted atop white grounds and are finished under glass in gilt bamboo frames.
