Renoir Etching "Le Chapeau Epingle"

An etching by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (19th c., French) titled Le Chapeau Epingle. This etching depicts Julie Manet, the daughter of painter Berthe Morisot, in a large hat as her cousin Paulette Govillard, affixed a flower to the brim. This etching, second state of two states, as published in George Riviere’s 1921 Renoir et ses Amis, is after Renoir’s original 1894 image. It features a printed artist signature in the lower left corner of the plate. Included is a Certificate of Authenticity from Merrill Chase Galleries Ltd. This etching is matted in white and mounted in a gold tone wooden frame.

Condition

Minor wear commensurate with age. Some marks to edges.
