Mamie Deschillie Original Native American Folk Art "Horse with Rider"

A unique piece of mixed media American folk art assemblage of a cowboy on a giant horse created with cardboard, acrylic, tape, fabric, beads, and more, by well-listed Native American folk artist Mamie Deschillie (1910-2010). This piece was purchased at a gallery in 2001 by previous collector. Artist signature is hand-signed in black marker on the front leg of the horse. Mamie Deschillie’s work is included in the collection of the Smithsonian, amongst other reputed galleries and museums.

Condition

- to fair. Light bending and scratching across. Light accretion in horse’s hair. Figure’s head is bent at neck.
