Antique Victorian Walnut Chair

Item Details

An antique Victorian walnut chair. The Victorian chair features carved details along the back rail, with turned legs and stretchers. The chair’s padded backrest and round seat are upholstered in needlepoint, with bouquets and sprigs of pink, rose, blue, yellow and orange flowers on a plum-colored background, and are finished with brass nailhead trim. A panel of purple velvet is applied to the back of the chair on the reverse side of the backrest. The seat shows evidence that it was originally caned, as seen in the images.

Condition

Some finish wear and chips; scuffs and wear along the front of the seat. Wobbly due to loose joints that need re-gluing.
