Antique Converted Pipe Rack Lamp
Item Details
An antique converted pipe rack lamp. The nineteenth-century wood pipe rack features an eleven-inch diameter wooden base with three round bun feet which are attached to the underside with slotted brass screws. The pipe stand has three mahogany wood candle holders surrounding a turned center stile that has a circular disc at the top, which is drilled with three holes for storing smoking pipes. The pipe stand or rack has been converted to a base for an electric lamp. The slightly flared shade measures eighteen inches at the bottom, and appears to be made of stretched hide or parchment with a whip-stitched edge.
Condition
Wood pipe rack base shows scuffs, scratches and dings, consistent with its age and normal use. Tested, and working.
