Early 19th Century Platter

An early 19th century platter. The white china platter features a brown transfer pattern, and (according to a sticker to the underside) depicts ‘Herculaneum Fisherman & Temple’, and ‘c/ 1815’. The large oval platter has an outer border of flowers, with an inner border of pierced loops. The center of the platter has an elaborate scene of two human figures in the foreground, with stylized ocean waves below, and a domed temple, mountains and village scene in the distance.
