Antique Smiths Tempus Fugit Grandmother Clock
Item Details
A Smiths Tempus Fugit grandfather clock. The case has a triangular pediment with carved shell motif above an arched molding with fluted columns to either side of the glass housing the dial. The dial is white enamel surrounding an ornate brass-tone metal circle with ornate hands. There are holes for three different key mechanisms, and the clock comes with the key, which is marked ‘Smiths’. There is a long, plain case below, with a glass viewing window for the pendulum, which is a brass-toned metal cylinder. The door has a simple brass-toned metal knob. The base is square, without feet, and the cabinet is stained a dark cherry color.
