1892 Illustrated "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain

An 1892 edition of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain was published with illustrations by American Publishing Company, Watson Gill, Syracuse, New York. This hand-sewn book is bound in tan cloth covered boards with an illustration of Tom Sawyer on the front cover. The lettering on the front cover is black and red, and the spine lettering is gilt and black. The decorations on the spine are black and the front cover is decorated in red and black. The front and back endpapers are flowered.

Condition

A book plate is attached to the front endpaper. The signatures have begun to separate from the hand-sewn bindings but are still attached. Foxing, fading, and wear to the cover are evident consistent with age and usage.
