Antique Canton Portable Crane

Item Details

An antique portable crane by the Canton Foundry and Machine Company that was based in Canton, Ohio. This crane allowed one man to do the work of many. An advertisement for one of these cranes appeared in Horseless Age, an automobile trade magazine, and other industry magazines circa 1916. This piece features a curved iron frame with chain pulley and lever and ratchet mechanisms. The crane sits on wheels with handle for maneuvering.
