A vintage bronze clad and gilt Chinese guardian lion statue. Also known as a Foo lion or Imperial guardian lion,or ‘Tongshi’: for bronze lion, this sculpture depicts a lion with large ornate gilt mane lying down with front legs outstretched and a watchful gaze. Lion has a gilt mane, breastplate, leg and facial accents and a button accent on the rear. Bronze body shows some patina and gilt is wearing off.

Condition

Gilding is worn in places. Patina is consistent with age.
