1896 Sterling Miniature Violin by Edwin Thompson Bryant
Item Details
An 1896 small German sterling violin pill/snuff box with silversmith Edwin Thompson Bryant hallmark. Designed with four strings and a floral chased front case, the rear case depicts a chased scene of two cherubs holding a bird in high relief. The violin is marked with a London import hallmark on the side and also on the back. It includes an ‘ETB’, lion passant, 1896 date letter ‘a’, ‘F’ indicating a foreign import into England, and the leopard head city mark of London. Total weight is 1.25 ozt.
