A phenomenal and rare circa 1885 three-section Rookwood Pottery faience architectural planter with floral swags, ribbons and female figures in bas relief. This substantial and extraordinary planter set features relief images on the exposed planter sides only, made of light colored clay and a matt glaze. It is delicately colored in tones of soft blue, yellow and green on the relief imagery only. The jardiniere/planter include two square end planters and rectangular center planter. All three planters include an impressed mark with reverse R and P, but no flames, and #1159Y. A separate long display base/platform is included with accent light.
Condition
Chipped areas on three corners and lower front of center piece. Some crazing to finish. Display light works.
