Charming Vintage Owl Wall Clock

Item Details

A charming vintage wood owl wall clock. The owl clock has a curved brow and painted eyes which move left to right when the clock is ticking. It has carved and painted leaf detail to the front of the case, with the owl claws and foliage to the bottom of the front case. The sides of the csae are openwork carvings of tulip plants. The front of the case opens to reveals the escapement, with a lovely chime. When the hour strikes, the gong sounds and the owl’s beak opens and closes. The pendulum is a carved wood oak leaf. Unmarked.

Condition

- to fair. There is a split in the wood of the owl’s “brow.” Tested February 2016; winding key and pendulum are present.
