Item Details

An original oil on canvas painting by mid-century artist K. Mescal. Little is known about the artist, but they are best-known for their expansive pastel-toned Southwestern landscapes such as this one. The painting depicts a cluster of simple adobe homes in the middle of a large desert flanked by stone chimneys and arches. A lone figure is viewed from behind as she gazes out at the landscape beyond. The painting is signed in red to the lower right. The painting is presented in a beveled wooden frame. A wire is attached to the verso of the piece for hanging.

Condition

- light craquelure developing across painting’s surface. A few very light scuffs on frame.
