An original oil painting by well-listed contemporary Impressionist artist Barbara Heimann (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1943 – ) and dated 2006. The image depicts a floral arrangement of gardenias in a blue vase with a swirling fern motif, against an ambiguous blue and green backdrop. The image has been rendered in thick impasto paint, giving the painting a wonderfully three-dimensional, relief-style quality. Signed by the artist across the bottom edge, and in marker to the verso, along with date. The painting is mounted behind linen mat in a beveled wood frame with a gilt finish. Barbara Heimann’s work can be found in many corporate and private collections. She studied art at the Cincinnati Art Academy, the University of Cincinnati, and Central Art Academy.
