Romeo Tabuena 'Fishermen' Original Painting

An original acrylic on Masonite painting by listed Filipino artist, Romeo Villalva Tabuena (b. 1921). This colorful contemporary piece, titled Fishermen depicts a luminous image of men fishing on the water in small boats. Signed and dated 1974 to the upper left. Includes certificate and label to the reverse. Piece is bordered by a wide pale gold-toned linen mat with small white framing, housed in an antiqued gold leaf over red wood frame. Romeo Tabuena is known for many works; of special note is Filipiniana a 1957 government commissioned mural which hangs at the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. He has lived in Mexico for over forty years and held many art shows, worldwide, which featured only his work. See link for more about this accomplished artist.
