A Mary Anna Hallock Foote (American, 1847-1938) original oil painting. Titled ‘Indians Conveying Silver Train’ this painting depicts Native Americans traveling along a hillside with a caravan of burros. Painted in oil on linen and presented in a wood frame with gilt molding. A hand signed note crediting the painting to ‘Mrs. Foote’ is affixed to the back. Mary Anna Hallock Foote was an author and illustrator known for her depictions of the American west.
