A limited edition, 1978 original woodcut of Curled Cat by listed artist, Jacques Hnizdovsky (Ukrainian, 1915-1985). This woodcut depicts a cat with prominent ears, tail, and whiskers curled into a ball. The prominent colors are black and white and the woodcut is pencil marked and signed to the bottom, ‘Hnizdovsky: Curled Cat, 1978, 55/250.’ The woodcut is on a black mat with a silver toned frame. There is a wire to the back for hanging and a paper pouch with an informational sheet on the artist. The informational sheet is branded by the Associated American Artists. Listed artist, Jacques Hnizdovsky was born in the Ukraine in 1915 and passed away in 1985 in New York. He is known for stylized realism in his woodcuts, his main medium.
