Signed and Numbered Betty Selby Desert Pueblo Pottery Vessel

A handmade Desert Pueblo Pottery vessel, signed by Betty Selby, 1977 and stamped with the pottery’s mark to the base. Selby began making this style of pottery vessel in the mid-1960s and her style is easily recognizable. The vessel has a wide mouth and tapered base, made of white stoneware and with bands and abstract patterns of colored slip applied to the surface in black, terracotta, and ivory. It is numbered ‘509’ to the base with the artist’s signature.
