Handmade, Semi-Antique Native American and Turkish Rugs
Item Details
A selection of hand woven accent rugs includes two Native American rugs and a Turkish torba (bag cover.) Each of the rugs is a flat woven piece and the Turkish rug is a flatweave kilim. Included are a large grey, red and black accent rug with three central stepped medallions and a red and black band border, having hand-sewn selvedge edges. A second Native American rug is in an abrashed ivory, chocolate brown and pale salmon color palette with geometric patterning on alternate bands. The Turkish is an abrashed Yomut rug or torba cover is in a bright cochineal red with repeated medallions in blue and white with a complementary red, and a main crenellated border with stylized crab or spider motif. One side is a long kilim skirt and the other is a shorter, bound edge. Unmarked.
Condition
- to fair. Staining, wear and residue to some areas; weaving becoming unraveled in spots, consistent with age and use.
