Vintage Native American Rugs
Item Details
A collection of five hand loomed Native American rugs. The largest has an abrashed, pale salmon field with alternating Shaman’s Eye patterns alternating with rhomboid shapes having sawtoothed edges in black, ivory and mint green with touches of lavender, providing a nice contrast. The ends are hand sewn with a red-orange wool slip stitch. A smaller rug is woven in bright red with Native American Four Ages symbols and a large geometric symbol to the center, with taupe, green and ivory accent colors; long warp fringe to each end. Included is a black and grey rug with ivory, blue and white accent bands featuring a similar Shaman’s Eye pattern to the center, with warp fringe to the ends. The selection includes two Central American saddle blankets in bright rainbow colors with fringe to each end.
Condition
- to fair. One rug has an area of weave damage, there is dirt and damage to the fringes, and one piece has a large stripe of dirt or residue across the back.
