Navajo Style Hand Woven Wool Rug
Item Details
A Navajo style hand woven wool rug. The rug features a vibrant geometric pattern of four cross shaped medallions bordered by a checked saw tooth edge to the long sides. The wool has been colored with synthetic dyes in shades of red, yellow and blue with natural wool coloration in tones of brown and white. The weavers hand can be seen seen in the form of ‘lazy lines’, diagonal lines created when the weaver stopped at one point, land then later resumed. These lines are not flaws, being considered characteristic of the navajo weaving technique.
