A truly remarkable signed, original oil on canvas by Spanish Artist Manuel Cuberos (1933 – ). The scene depicts a woman in a long skirt and cloak, with head scarf, walking along an ancient alleyway between rowhouses, in a mountain village. Light floods the opposite wall of white row houses with red tile roofs, while the figure and images in the right and lower portions of the scene are in shadow. A high mountain pass is in the far distance, with a green valley below. The entire scene is under a brilliantly blue sky with high clouds. The painting is presented in a gold painted gesso and wood carved frame with a black velvet inlay. Signed to the lower right, ‘Cuberos.’ Ready to hang.
