A very large framed oil on canvas painting. This 8.5’ Baroque painting depicts the famed architect Sir Christopher Wren (17th c., English) holding an open scroll of mathematics and pointing at a globe. He sits in front of a window with a view of a city from across the bay, and he is surrounded by open books, globes, and a giant pen. This painting is mounted in a gold tone wooden frame with ornate plaster applique.

Condition

One 2" slit in canvas. Some wear and chipping to frame.
