An antique hardcover copy of Pathological Hematology: An Essay on the Blood in Disease, by Gabriel Andral, translated by J.F. Meigs, M.D. and Alfred Stille, M.D., published in 1844 by Lea and Blanchard, Philadelphia. Gabriel Andral (1797- 1876) was a French pathologist and professor at the University of Paris and credited with the founding of scientific hematology and integrating it into clinical and analytical medicine. This book shows wear with age, and there are some pen and pencil marks on the front and back fly pages. While the pages are mottled with age, the text remains intact. The front and back covers are loose but otherwise the biding remains tight.
