Vintage 1935 Blank & Stoller Photograph

A vintage silver gelatin photograph, taken by Blank & Stoller, a New York commercial photography studio active in the 1920-30s. The reputed studio shot a cover of Time magazine, and had work featured in many University archives, among other publications. This image is a portrait of a distinguished-looking gentleman whose name is signed in pencil to the lower right but is indecipherable, dated 1935. The photograph is mounted behind glass in a wooden frame with a distressed finish. A Closson gallery sticker from Cincinnati, Ohio is attached to the verso.
Condition
- inscription on photo has developed a fuzzy outline. Scratching across frame’s surface.
