Item Details

An original 1810 copper plate engraving that was etched by Elizabeth Byrne (English) after a drawing by Richard Bankes Harraden (English, 1778-1862), titled Corpus Christi or Benet College. The print was published as part of the 1811 publication that Harraden created with his father, also named Richard Harraden (1756–1838), titled Cantabrigia Depicta; a series of Engravings representing the most picturesque and interesting Edifices in the University of Cambridge. The print depicts several figures in graduation caps huddled in the courtyard of the college. The print is presented behind glass in a thin black wooden frame with a hanging wire and a Closson’s gallery sticker attached to the verso.
