1890's Complete Poetical Works by Whittier, Tennyson, Browning

A collection of poetical works by Whittier, Tennyson, and Browning. Each volume is part of the series ‘Cambridge Edition of the Poets’. The books are entitled The Complete Poetical Works of John Greenleaf Whittier (1892), The Poetical and Dramatic Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson_ (1898), and The Complete Poetical and Dramatic Works of Robert Browning (1895). Each was published by Houghton, Mifflin and Company, Boston. The books are bound in maroon cloth covers with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover and top text edges. The poet’s name on the front cover is encircled by a gilt design. The frontispiece is tissue guarded in all three volumes.

Condition

Shelf wear is evident with frayed edges and corners with slight lose of gilt on the spines consistent with age. One has a cracked front hinge with a loose endpaper.
