Pair of 19th Century Utagawa Kunisada Japanese Woodblock Prints

A pair of 19th century Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints by well-listed ukiyo-e master Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1864), both depicting samurais. The first is an 1825 print of an unknown title; it depicts a samurai crouching in a low-lying boat. The artist’s chop mark is printed to the lower right, and it seems that the print may have originally been part of a triptych. The second print’s title is unknown. It depicts a samurai holding a sword on a wooden deck. The artist’s chop mark is printed to the lower left, and the print also seems to be part of a triptych. Both prints are unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation. They are currently housed in acetate sleeves. More information about the artist can be found under Related Links.
Condition
-consistent with age. Both prints have yellowing, creasing, and light accretion across. Edges are slightly worn and ripped. A 1" rip marks the center right edge of the second print listed.
