Circa 1950s Tonka Toys Dump Truck

Item Details

A Tonka Toys red and green dump truck, circa 1950. The red truck features six textured wheels, a lever lift system that operates the green truck bed, and a rotating tailgate with a locking lever mechanism. Four wheels have visible embossed lettering, ‘Tonka Toys USA.’ Both decals to both sides of the truck cabin read ‘Tonka Toys, Trademark By Mound Metalcraft Incorporated, Mound, Minnesota.’ Mound Metalcraft formally changed its name to Tonka Toys Incorporated in January 1956.

Condition

- to fair, some chipping to the paint at places of use, such as the underside of the truck bed, the hinged tailgate, and the top of the bed.
