Dora McCollister Original Oil on Board Seascape

An original mid-century oil on board painting by well-listed Ohio artist Dora G. McCollister (1860-1945). The painting is one of many picturesque seascapes created by McCollister. Teal water splashes against a white sandy beach. A few spindly palm trees rise from the shore, and shrubby plants line the beach’s edge. The painting is unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation. It is initialied in yellow paint to the lower right, and is signed in pen on the verso. McCollister graduated from the Columbus School of Art and Design in 1932 and was the first fine arts graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design (Sarasota, Florida), in April 1937.
Condition
- light accretion acros the painting, particuarly along the top edge. Light wear nad fraying on board’s corners.
