Vintage Hand Embroidered Chinese Silk Panel

A vintage, hand embroidered Chinese silk panel. The center panel is rendered on an ivory background, with satin-stitched florals in shades of blue, turquoise, very pale green, fawn and ecru, with large open flower blossoms and tiny, detailed leaves and foliage. Flanking the center panel are bands of a chocolate brown woven-style thread, possibly metallic, and at the edges are a taupe-colored band with tone-on-tone embroidered florals, with touches of red in the flowers. The piece is placed on a taupe-colored mat, and presented under glass in a contemporary, silver-toned and flyspecked frame. Tagged by the framer to the verse and ready to hang.

Condition

- to fair for its age. The panel has areas of disintegration due to age, and some discoloring. There are areas where the thread is unraveled, due to age.
