Vintage West German Stein

A vintage West German ceramic beer stein. The stein features a cast metal, tiered cone shaped cover with a decorative thumb lift. The image along the barrel is of two women, a man, and two dogs enjoying time outdoors. Along the back of the stein, located beneath the wood-stylized handle, is a ceramic banner with incised text, ‘Trinkt Allezeit In Frued und Leid,’ which roughly translates to ‘Always drinking in joy and sorrow.’ The bottom is incised with ‘Made in West Germany, 9’ with maker mark ‘22’ incised and stamped ink ‘3.’

Condition

- the stein has little shelf wear. Some wear to the thumb piece. Cleaning recommended before use.
