A Salvador Dali wood engraving on rives paper. This image is created from Dali’s, The Divine Comedy and titled, Dante’s Repentance. This piece is signed in-plate a block near the bottom middle of the image frame. This piece is both matted and framed. The engraving itself measures, 10′ × 7′.
Spanish artist, Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989) worked alongside painters such as Picasso, Magritte and Miro. After receiving his training at the Colegio de Hermanos Maristas and the Instituto and the Academia de San Fernando, the artist rose to fame. Dali is now known as a Surrealist icon with permanent exhibitions in Spain, France, Italy, Germany and the United States. There are also many Dali museums dedicated to his work throughout these cities. Dali’s work has inspired many contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons and Damien Hurst.
