Framed Ammunition Advertising Prints
Item Details
A set of two framed ammunition advertising prints. The grouping includes a Winchester brand offset lithograph on cardboard having a vignette of flying ducks above caption ‘They are Hitters.’ There is further lettering regarding Winchester factory loaded shells, with aiming hunters to lower right corner and an image of Winchester shells to lower left. Also features a resin duck affixed to upper image giving it an interesting dimensional look. The print is housed within a brown composite frame having mounted hanging bracket to verso. Also included is a United States Cartridge Company lithograph print on board, titled ‘The Black Shells’ with an image of a hawk type bird attacking a duck, mid air. Beneath lettering are images of three types of shell cartridges including ‘Romax’, ‘Climax’ and ‘Ajax’. The print is housed in a dark molded wood frame with rustic finish.
Condition
- there is warping, staining and spotting to “The Black Shells” image with wear to frame. The back paper on frame is torn. The Winchester print has wear to finish on frame with smudging and a dimple to printed image.
