Antique D. Appleton and Company Leather Bound Books
Item Details
A set of ten three quarter leather bound books published by D. Appleton and Company, New York, between 1898-1900. The books have brown leather binding with marbled paper overlay. The top edge is gilded. There is gilded lettering on the spines of the books. The group includes a variety of non fiction texts with subject matter including science, economy and culture. Titles include The Sun by C.A. Young, Recent Economic Changes by David A. Wells, and The Culture Demanded by Modern Life by E.L Youmans among others.
Condition
The books are in good condition. They have wear associated with age and use. The pages are slightly discolored from age particularly along the edges where the paper has been exposed to light. The spines and hinges are intact with wear mostly to the front and back boards along the edges.
