An Early’s Witney Point wool and leather blanket coat, or capote. This incredible capote features a deep hood with a deep brown leather trim, long suede fringe to the shoulders elbows and back. The coat has a double whip cross stitch and seams turned in. It has been made from an Early’s Witney Point cream wool blanket with two thick black stripes for added detail. The coat has a wool belt closure. The maker labels are sewn into the bottom right panel of the exterior of the coat, and are marked ‘Northwest Trader Pure New Wool Made in England’ to one label, and ‘Earlys Witney Point Blanket Made in England’ to the second label. The Early’s Witney Point wool blanket was loomed in England and dyed to get the bold black stripe. These blankets provide unparalleled warmth, even on the coldest of winter nights.

Taken of coat folded for shipping. The coat laying flat measures 45" in length, 18" at shoulders, 21" at bust, 22" at waist, and 24" at the sleeves.
