Japanese Woodblock Bookplate

Item Details

A Japanese woodblock bookplate print, calligraphed markings located to the right edge. The image depicts a playful scene of two geishas and a samurai crouched on the floor, peering at the contents of a decorative box draped with a red cloth, all smiling endearingly. The print is vibrantly colored and set behind a sea foam green mat, under glass, in a narrow wood frame with a black finish.

Condition

- a seam runs through the center of the print from top to bottom. Debris trapped under glass. Mat is damaged to right center. Finish of frame is lightly damaged along edges.
