Antique Metal Bar Sign

Item Details

An antique metal bar sign, made with the popular ‘Crystoglas’ method that was popular around 1910. Crystoglas signs are made of metal coated with a thick ‘crystal’ glossy celluloid coat. The sign reads, ‘No minors served nor permitted to loaf about here.’ A fanciful decorative ribbon is embossed below this phrase, and the edges of the sign are beveled. A chain is attached to the top of the sign for hanging. Per consignor, this sign came from a bar in Cleveland, Ohio.

Condition

-light scratching and patina, consistent with age and use.
